Hi! I'm Buddy!

  • Buddy
  • Mixed breed
  • 7 years old
  • Male

Weight (approx): 62 lbs

Energy: Low-Medium

Children: Good

Dogs: Good with proper introduction

Cats: No

About Me:  Yawwwwn! Just waking up from a nap here. Second one of the day, I think. If there's one thing I love more than sleeping, it's people. Right now I'm just hoping to find a special family or person to live the cozy dog life with.

I don't need much. I'd be so happy to have a comfy spot to sleep, a few chew toys, a yard to play in, and some kibble! I wouldn't mind having another dog to snuggle or play with, although I haven't spent enough time with cats to know if we'd get along.

My foster mom says I'm curious, but I listen well. In fact, I know how to sit, down, stay, shake a paw, and come! I'd do just about anything you ask for a belly rub. My favourite is belly brushes with "the furminator."

If I could be the sweet snuggly, curious, and lazy guy for you, please come and meet me! I'd love to show you my "happy dance"
Behavior Notes:  Buddy has no behavior concerns. He is not crate trained, for the simple fact he is a senior and also he hates the crate, he will self-harm trying to get out, so not recommended. He is not destructive at all. He would prefer to sleep all day to the point, sometime he has to carried outside to do his business. However, he does get spurts of energy, and will jump 4 foot fences if he feels inclined to do so. So, recommended that once outside, he is supervised at all times.

Health Notes: Buddy was brought into care because he had recently tussled with a porcupine and if that wasn't enough, his left front leg had many puncture wounds on it. Buddy's first stop was one of our vet partners where many, many quills were surgically removed from his mouth and muzzle, an x-ray done on his leg (no breaks) and the punctures were flushed. Within a couple of days, his recovery was remarkable. He may have a few scars to add to his grey whiskers, but is in great overall health. Buddy is up to date with DACPP, Bordatella, Rabies and is neutered and microchipped.
