About Me: Hey there! I am Edwin. And as you can see I am a really good-looking fellow. How old am I you ask? Well, I am not really sure to tell you the truth. I have never had a birthday party!! I do know that I was suffering terribly from seasonal allergies when I was rescued by hart this past April! It was just awful!! I am on medication now and feeling much better! Besides that, I have no other health problems. I have also had all of my shots, was microchipped, and even got 'fixed' too. Now that I am feeling so much better, I need a 'furever' home!! I am medium to high energy and love to do tricks. I know 'sit', 'lay down' and when it comes to listening, I can 'take' and 'leave' when you say so. I love people, but have been known to jump up on little kids, so maybe older kids or smelly teenagers are better for me. I am also not a big fan of dog parks cause, you know, "Stranger Danger" and all of that. Maybe if I could get to know another dog we could be pals, but that would take some time. You will be happy to hear that I am already house-trained and crate-trained too. I really would love a big yard to run around in, maybe play some catch? As you can see, I am a solid boy and I need a solid family. One who will take good care of me. Maybe its your family? My allergies will be seasonal, but my love will be year-round!!

Behavior Notes: Edwin does have some little quirks that aren't too major. He is a counter surfer, his foster pawrents are working on curbing this behavior. He has shown a little dog reactivity, but is easy to redirect. He gives clear signals so it is easy for his handler to catch on and redirect his attention off the other dog(s). He is good living with dogs, his issue is strange dogs, so proper introductions are a must. He is good with people, but does get excited. He has prey drive towards bunnies, but can be refocused, and will settle once the bunny is gone. Edwin is crate trained and has no problems. He is a bit of a flight risk, as he doesn't know his name and if he sees a rabbit he is gone. So should be supervised outside at all times. He should be around older children only as he does jump and can knock a small child down. He has not shown any aggression. He has shown fears though when you reach for his face, and raised voices. He does have some basic cues down, like sit, down, take and leave it (though this is still a work in progress as he can be a mooch). They are currently working on "off" when he's jumping on people and counter surfing. Edwin can get restless, so a home that is active and can do things with him would be best. Also Edwin needs consistency with his training, so that he can continue to make progress.

Health Notes: Edwin came into care from hart's target community. He is a happy guy with minimal concerns. He had a minor flare up of season allergies, which were treated with medication and cleared right up. This may be a yearly issue for him, but can be eaily managed with regular vet visits and medication. He is neutered and up to date on his DACPP, Bordetella and Rabies. He has also been microchipped.
