Hi! I'm Galileo!

  • Galileo
  • Mixed breed
  • 2 years
  • Male

Weight (approx): 58 lbs

Energy: High

Children: Good

Dogs: Good with proper introductions

Cats: Unknown

About Me:  Astronomy? Physics? Engineering? Pshhhh. The only thing I'm calculating is the total velocity and energy needed to keep this walk going. Seriously though, my energy is limitless (they say it can neither be created, nor destroyed…) so I'm the kinda dog that belongs in an very active home. I've been told that I am a bit on the reactive side, so it's important you take your time with me and slowly introduce me to new things, people and animals. I'm also a bit anxious, which means you'll need to show me that not everything is as scary as it seems. What's in it for you? Keep working on my training and we'll be inseparable … I'm just looking for your love and affection. Plus, I have scientific proof that the world DOES revolve around me.

Health Notes: While he isn't the father of modern science like his namesake, Galileo is a smart fellow! He was in overall good body condition when he arrived to hart. Galileo is up to date with DACPP, Bordatella, Rabies and is neutered and microchipped.

Behavior Notes: Galileo is a high energy dog. He would be great with an active family who goes running or biking. Galileo is showing anxiety towards the crate, so while we are working on that, he is left loose in the house, and does great. While Galileo is currently living with a dog, it took very slow introductions before he was okay with the resident dog. Also the resident dog is a very chill dog, and extremely relaxed, but it still took a while for Galileo to like him. We feel that Galileo would do better as the only dog in the home. If he has to live with another dog, we recommend a dog who is calm and relaxed. Galileo does show leash reactivity towards dogs on walks, especially towards dogs larger than him. He has gotten a lot better with people coming into the house, and is very bouncy when greeting. He has discovered the joys of toys. He is house trained. He is good with kids. He's very slow with them, and quite gentle.
