Health Notes:  Iggy came to hart from an ASNTF clinic and was not able to use her back leg.  The vet found that Iggy had multiple fractures on both legs as well as her pelvis, likely the result of being hit by a car.  No repair was needed for her right leg as it was already forming a bony callous, however an FHO (femoral head osteotomy) was completed on her left side, which is a the surgical removal o the head and neck of the femur.  The 'ball' part of the hip joint is removed and the surrounding muscles and developing scar tissue work to support the area, and act as a false joint.  This means that when the limb is moved, the forces are transferred to the pelvis rather than the leg itself.  The FHO causes the leg to be somewhat shorter than the unaffected leg, although most dogs return to close to normal activity after surgery.  Iggy had wonderful foster parents who worked diligently through her post-operative rehabilitation and she is back to using her leg in a normal fashion.  The only complication Iggy developed was a seroma, swelling that results from an accumulation of fluid under the skin.  On the advice of her vet, she was given an anti-inflammatory and monitored closely and it has gone away.  Iggy then developed puppy vaginitis.  The good news is that uncomplicated puppy vaginitis is typically self-treated, meaning it goes away on its own.  That is exactly what happened with Iggy.  Now Iggy is medically ready to be adopted!!Iggy is up to date with DACPP, Bordatella, Rabies and is spayed and microchipped.

Behavior Notes:  Iggy is a sweet little girl, with lots of energy (she is a puppy). Now that she is recovered from her surgery, she is interacting with her foster siblings and doing great. She gets along with dogs and cats, loves to play with them. She is fully house trained, and loves her crate. She is a very social and confident girl, and extremely smart.
