About Me: Don't I look like such a sweetheart? Maybe I could be your sweetheart in my new furever home with you! My foster parents say that I have some of the softest fur in all the land, but usually I need time to warm up to people before I let them pet me. Don't take it the wrong way though, I'd just rather get to know you first! I really need a calm home to be truly comfortable and prevent any anxiety. In terms of roommates I would love to meet some new feline friends to cuddle and I don't mind having an older dog around either. I would love to have a yard to play in as well as my previous home was an acreage. As an added bonus I would be great guard dog and will use my bark to let you know when strangers approach and I've learned good manners at my foster home including sit, stay, down, and shake a paw. We can practice them together in the yard or on all the walks we will be taking together! Maybe you and I could be friends and play in our yard together one day soon!

Health Notes: Ollie was born in hart's care in 2013 and due to no fault of his own, was returned to hart in the fall of 2017. Ollie came back to hart a little overweight
but in good health and is up to date with DACPP, Bordatella, Rabies and is neutered and microchipped.

Behavior Notes: Ollie is a bit of a fearful boy, so he requires a calm home with calm people. He is an older dog as well, so he is not crate trained and he gets extremely stressed in the crate and will potentially harm himself trying to get out. He is fearful of new people and situations, so he is standoffish in the beginning and needs time to learn they are safe and then will approach on his own. He is good with other dogs, but has less patience for puppies, and has no problems putting them in their place and can get rough with puppies, so older dogs are recommended. Ollie loves having kitty friends though! Ollie has shown destructive behavior when he initially came into care. He destroyed a door in the first week, but once he learned that the home environment was safe and he was safe, that behavior disappeared. Ollie is a sweet heart and loves getting pets once he's learned that the person is safe. He does have some sensitivity around his hind end and may growl if touched around the hind end. Children are not recommended due to him being fearful and the sensitivity around his hind end. Ollie is muzzle trained. Ollie requires long walks to help his energy level, an hour or longer if possible. He loves exploring, sniffing and finding things.
