About Me: If you're looking to brighten up your day with a good laugh, pick me! I'm a comedian. No, I really am! Wanna hear a joke? What do you call a dog with a surround system? A sub-woofer! You'll be impressed with my ability to keep myself entertained, but don't be fooled. I love playing with dogs of all sizes, so long as I'm introduced properly. Chase and tug are my favourites! Now that I think about it, the best home for me is one with another dog who will have a paw-sitive (haha!) impact on me. I've got things figured out pretty well. I know "sit" and "watch", and I do well in my kennel, but I can get overwhelmed easily. I'll need you to be patient and spend time training me. Fur-tunately (heehee!), I'm smart so I will catch on easily! I'm my happiest relaxing by your side, so if your home is more on the quiet side, you have pet-tential (lol). Hold your appaws for when you meet me in person!

Health Notes: River has come so far with the care and encouragement of her foster family!  Super shy when she arrived in hart's care, she is now a confident and curious young dog.  River is a healthy girl who is ready for adoption.  River up to date with DACPP, Bordatella, Rabies and is spayed and microchipped.

Behavior Notes:  River was a fearful girl when she first came into hart's care. She would do best with another dog in her home, with proper introductions, as she does rely on the other dog for instruction and to know what/who is safe. This dog should be a calm dog, not reactive or fearful themselves. We do expect River to regress a little on her transition into her new home, but with time, patience and training she will become the happy dog. She needs an experienced home, if possible. She is currently on an anti-anxiety medication, but it is temporary, and can be weaned off eventually. We also recommend that the trainer we are currently using continues working with her, so River can keep making progress going forward. She is a loving pup, who just needs to learn trust, that the world isn't as scary as she thinks it is, and a loving hand. River is crate trained, and we recommend she has a crate so it can be her safe zone when she needs to be alone. River is leash trained, and only pulls when she scared.
