HI! I'm Scout!

  • Scout
  • Mixed breed
  • Approx. 6 months old
  • Female

Weight (approx): 30 lbs

Energy: Medium

Children: Good

Dogs: Good

Cats: Good

Health Notes: Originally found on the side of road, Scout was taken to a rural animal control facility where it was found her back left femur was broken and splinted. When the mandatory hold was released, Scout came into hart's care and saw a specialist for her break. Because of the location and condition of the break site, the specialist determined that Scout would require an amputation. Within a couple of days after her surgery, Scout figured out that she could scoot around just as effectively on three legs and hasn't slowed down, except for pets, since. Adoptive parents of a tripawd dog like Scout should: - Watch her weight so that there is not extra strain on her remaining limbs - Exercise her regularly - walking is good, swimming is great, long distance running is not best - but do not allow her to overdo it - Take good care of her skin and pads to prevent calluses and pressure sores - Give Scout a boost on stairs and monitor her mobility as she ages Scout is is up to date with DACPP, Bordatella, Rabies and is spayed and microchipped.

Ideal Home (from foster home) : Scout would like a fenced yard in a quiet neighbourhood so no condo/apartment for this girl. She likes other dogs and kids. She would be a great addition to any family.
