About Me: Oh, hello! I'm Umbro. I'm an 8 year old, 8 pound Shitzu X and am searching for some great humans to move in with! I came into hart's care a matted, broken mess. After a couple months of TLC I'm officially looking to start my forever! I think its okay to toot my own horn on this thing so here goes….I'm awesome with other doggos! I can play with the youngsters, but can also lounge around with my people all day long if that's more your style. I also get along with cats & tiny humans just fine. I'm house and crate trained and know the basic commands that my foster parents give me. I LOVE my people so would be happiest if you were home more often than not. Oh, and I can almost guarantee you'll smile whenever you look at me due to my cute little tongue pokin' out the side of my mouth 24/7 (a result of a surgery that I'm not even mad about). Does it sound like we'd hit it off? Apply to adopt me, I'd love to meet you!

Health Notes: This gentleman came from our target community and needed quite a bit of work on his jaw due to an old injury.  As a result of a mid-mandibular fracture and severe periodontal disease, Umbro required two surgeries and lost most of his teeth. The good news is that now that Umbro has healed, he is no longer in pain and can enjoy his soft food and treats. Umbro is up to date with DACPP, Bordatella, Rabies and is neutered and microchipped.

Behavior Notes: Umbro is a senior who has been through a lot so he is on the fearful side. He is very attached to his people, and depends on them to feel safe, especially women. He sticks very close to his people, so not a flight risk. He is good with kids and he's good with cats and dogs. He is fearful of men, and strange people, but does warm up eventually given time. Due to his age, these behaviors are very ingrained, so he needs a home who can understand that this is the way he is and willing to help him feel safe, learn how to cope, and just give him the love he needs. He is crate trained and house trained. He is good on leash. He does have some separation anxiety, but if you turn on the radio and give him a Kong, he will settle down.
