How long have you been volunteering for hart?
Since around the summer of 2014.

What is your volunteer role within hart?
I'm a photographer. I have photographed vaccination parties, a few events, intake photos, and updated progress photos for dogs who have been with HART over a year.

What do you do when you are not volunteering?
I have a full time office job during the week, and I photograph people outside of that. I spend a lot of time outdoors with my husband and our two dogs.

If you were a rescue dog, what kind would you be?
I'd definitely be something with a lot of energy that loves to explore! And of course, be a snuggler.

Why do you volunteer with hart?
When I started volunteering, I was looking to gain more experience with photography and get outside my bubble. I soon became attached to the HART dogs and often find myself wishing I could adopt them. I have seen what a good quality photo can do for a potential adoption, and it really is heart warming to see a pup find their forever home.

What experience in hart made you realize you were making a difference?
I found out a photo of mine for a HART dog that has been in care quite a while received almost forty thousand views in less than a week and really helped get the word out there for him. That blew my mind. A good photo of a dog has so much power especially when it comes to potential adoptions.

What advice would you have for someone who is considering volunteering?
There really are so many roles as a volunteer, there's something for every one to fit your schedule. You get hooked once you see how amazing this organization is.
