How long have you been volunteering for hart?
I started volunteering with HART in July 2012

What is your volunteer role within hart?
I do foster screening and foster vetting, and sometimes volunteer at other events such as HART's annual run.

What do you do when you are not volunteering?
I am a biological sciences lab technician. I have previously done some food and lipids research at the U of A, and currently work at a high school setting up labs and assisting in teaching the students lab techniques.  I love spending lots of time with my family and of course my animals.

If you were a rescue dog, what kind would you be?
I would be a shy rescue dog, but once trust was earned and I felt secure in my new home we would be best friends! I would be thankful of the second life I've been given

Why do you volunteer with hart?
I love dogs, and love to help HART give all the wonderful souls a second chance at life.

What experience in hart made you realize you were making a difference?
I cannot think of one specific experience, because the HART family is constantly making differences every day. It is extremely rewarding to see these dogs find wonderful foster and adoptive homes and recover, become comfortable and secure. I love to see this displayed in the dogs smiles J

What advice would you have for someone who is considering volunteering?
Definitely do it! Anything helps
